Job Description / Duties
BCIT's Student Financial Aid and Awards is looking for a regular, full-time Financial Aid and Awards Advisor to assist with the administration of programs such as: BCIT Student Awards programs; StudentAid BC programs; Adult Upgrading Grant; Out-of-Province assistance; Emergency Loans and Fee Deferrals.
Duties will include advising students on all forms of student financial assistance on both a one-to-one and group basis. It will also include adjudicating achievement-based and need-based awards, and may include donor liaison.

Qualifications / Required Skills
•A minimum of two years' experience in a BC public post-secondary financial aid and/or awards office at the Advisor or Administrator level
•Two-year, full-time post-secondary diploma, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
•Experience with computerized financial aid and/or awards systems required
•Detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret and apply complex policies and guidelines
•Superior time management and organizational skills, with a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines
•Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a high volume, high stress office environment
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and proven experience as an effective team member
•Strong analytical, problem-solving and needs analysis skills required
•Ability to interpret and apply policies
•Proven ability to communicate courteously and effectively in a fast-paced environment
•Experience with computerized student record systems, such as SCT Banner, at an intermediate level
•Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as database software such as Microsoft Access
