Job Description / Duties
Reporting to the University Registrar, and serving as a key member of the office of the Registrar leadership team, the Director, Student Financial Assistance and Enrolment Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational direction and guidance to the university enrolment services function as well as student awards and financial aid.
A senior management position with a high degree of responsibility and accountability both at the policy and operational level, the Director has primary responsibility and accountability for ensuring exceptional front line enrolment services to over 10 thousand students. They are accountable for the efficient, accurate and compliant management of the university scholarship, awards, bursary and student employment programs, as well as being the university leader for the administration of the OSAP program, delivering over $65M in funding through the Canada and Ontario Student Loan programs to Ontario Tech students, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial and institutional policies and guidelines while maximizing the benefits for our students.

Sound leadership approach with the ability to think critically.
Experience and knowledge of student information and student financial systems, with demonstrated commitment to continually assessing system effectiveness to improve operational efficiencies and service delivery.
Proven project and staff management experience.
Demonstrated experience with the operations of a major academic, administrative, and/or student services department.
Strong organizational, decision-making and management skills.
Budget management skills.
Problem solving skills; ability to analyze and streamline complex processes.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills.
Leadership experience with proven success in fostering a collaborative team within a fast paced, student focused service environment.
Knowledge of university governance, processes, and structures related to academic programming.
Superior analytic skills, resulting in innovative solutions to complex problems.
