Job Description / Duties

- Advises students regarding various financial assistance options; provides information and resources to students and assists in completing the appropriate forms; interviews students and assesses their financial status as identified by the interview and application documents; refers students when appropriate, to other services within the University (e.g. Counselling, Academic Advising, Disability Services, First Nations, Financial Services).

- Administers a variety of University student financial assistance programming, including coordinating and communicating information to departments pertaining to the awards processing; determining eligibility, assessing and evaluating bursary, scholarship and award applications while applying established criteria, guidelines or procedures; reviewing and verifying department selections to ensure recipients meet award eligibility requirements; recommending approval for distribution of such funds to the Supervisor and/or the Associate Registrar; prepares cheque requisitions.

- With the guidance of the Supervisor, establishes and implements procedures and processes on the administration of all aspects of government funded, University administered student financial 2 assistance programs (e.g. AUG, CSG-HNPT) to ensure programs are accessed by eligible students. Coordinates the workflow (e.g. data input, generating letters, emails to students) as it pertains to these programs.

Qualifications / Required Skills


- Completion of a three-year diploma (minimum 90 credits).

- Two years of related experience, including experience in an educational setting, and experience in financial aid application assessment, in interpreting and applying policy and procedures, and with significant student contact.

Additional Information

Our standard work week is Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm. This position may include evenings, weekends and non-standard work weeks.

Salary: $4,620 per month (with increments to a max of $5,198 per month)

You will be working closely with the Financial Aid & Awards team, and other members of the Registrar’s Office to lead areas of financial aid and awards options as well as financial literacy workshops for our students.
