Job Description / Duties
The office of Student Awards and Financial Aid is seeking a self-directed and team-centered individual for the position of Scholarship Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager, Student Awards and Financial Aid, the incumbent will be responsible for the coordination of the Mount Royal University awards program and external scholarship programs. The position entails coordination with the Office of University Advancement - Development, Finance department, faculty, and various departments. Primary responsibilities include updating and revising scholarship policies and procedures, enhancing communication, distribution of awards to students, research and reporting, and ensuring compliance with policies and standards set by the University.
• Work closely with Office of University Advancement - Development, Finance, faculty and staff to develop award guidelines and ensure effective promotion, processing and distribution of awards
• Creation of new awards in coordination with the Foundation
• Coordinate the development of a communication plan to notify students, faculty and staff of scholarship information through a variety of promotion vehicles
• Manage award payments to students
• Coordinate selection process
• Update and revise scholarship procedures
• Ensure effective reporting on scholarship and bursary activity
• Work closely with IT Services to maintain online awards system
Qualifications / Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree
• Previous experience working with scholarships and bursaries in a post-secondary setting
• Excellence client service skills
• Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work independently
• Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Excellence communication skills
• Excellent computer skills, including troubleshooting
Additional Information
Salary: $2,123.08 semi-monthly
